BUILT FOR PERFORMANCE

The C-Series

A rigid web corona treatment system (horizontal input, horizontal output) designed specifically for the corrugated plastic extrusion industry. Where film-oriented treaters fall short on thick profiles, the C-Series treats solid and hollow sheet up to 0.63″ (16mm) without compromise.

An open-frame treating head, pivoting electrode protection, and electronically adjustable air gap let you switch profiles on the fly while closed-loop PID control holds consistent output power and dyne levels across every job you run.

WHAT MAKES IT DIFFERENT

Key Features

QC Electronics C-Series corona treater actively treating corrugated plastic sheet, with the violet corona discharge visible across the electrode gap
PRECISION POWER

Auto Air Gap Adjustment

Real-time voltage and current feedback regulate output in a true closed-loop PID system. The generator maintains stable watt density regardless of line speed changes, substrate variations, or environmental conditions. Store treatment recipes and recall them for fast job changeovers with operator lockout to prevent unauthorized adjustments between shifts.

WEB PROTECTION

Pivoting Treating Heads

Treating heads mechanically pivot in the direction of the web movement in the event the air gap isn’t set properly for the extrusion thickness or the operators forget to put the treater in ‘thread’ mode. This eliminates the potential for damaging electrodes, dragging electrodes, misalignment causing uneven treatment, or changes in electrode configurations caused by impacts.

HIGH POWER DENSITY

On-the-fly Recipe and Air Gap Changes

Eliminate the need for operator input on the HMI.

BUILT TO LAST

Open Frame Design

Open frame design allows for easy maintenance access. Treating heads are interlocked so high voltage is cut if a light curtain is broken, or the treating head pivots out of the ‘treat’ position.

INTELLIGENT AUTOMATION

Material Impurity Detection

Senses a hole in the extrusion and shuts off before the defect reaches the treatment head.

INTELLIGENT AUTOMATION

Touch Panel Control

Line speed monitoring, frequency monitoring, auto/manual start, true kilowatt output, watt density control, kilowatt control, advanced digital fault log, spare parts list, and recipe programming with operator lockout. Fieldbus communication for integration with your line’s control system. Also available in analog control.

Materials You Can Treat

The C-Series is built primarily for corrugated polypropylene: the rigid, fluted sheet that defeats film-oriented treaters. It’s also configurable for other thick or rigid substrates where surface energy is a barrier to printing, coating, or bonding.

29.07 54.92
Dynes/cm field result on corrugated PP

In a field installation, the C-Series raised the surface energy of corrugated polypropylene from an untreated 29.07 dynes/cm to 54.92 dynes/cm. With fully adjustable controls, the C-Series can deliver a wide range of dyne levels: from a slight bump to 38 dynes/cm up to 60+ dynes/cm. Whether you are bonding inks, coatings, or adhesives, the C-Series will make sure they anchor reliably.
